Java is divided into three core packages are Java Development Kit (JDK) is one of three core technology Java Virtual Machine (JVM)  and the Java Runtime Environment (JRE).

JDK is a complete Software package, we can use for the Development purpose. 

JVM is java platform component , which is used for to execute a program.

JRE is a part of jdk.

First Name of Java : 

The First Name of Java as Oak, it's created in 1991 by James Gosling. 

Oak was changed in 1994, as Java as it was found that a company called Oak Technologies was already registered with the name.
